![]() (assuming your golf is an 8v and has the mk2 style shift linkage) then your going to need the instrument cluster (i dont see why your stock instrument harness wouldnt fit the tdi one) and the hydraulic setup for the clutch (you dont even need a reservoir, just run the lines together or plug the line that runs to the res) it should be an easy swap from there. ![]() To make life easier on me I am going to do the swap with a complete engine that means. Just a quick question I tried doing some research but keep getting a few different answers on the forum. it drops out from below, i believe one nut from above once you get all the covers off. Okay looking to swap out the 2.0 in my 06 focus to a 2.3 also swap in the 5 speed manual and throw out the auto. your going to need the downpipe obviously, and once thats out of the passat, and out of the way, you need the shifter box. if you wanna sell that harness, hit me up, i'll buy it off you, and i know a guy that has a few mk3 harnesses. its a PAIN IN THE ASS, as im doing it right now (except im removing everything but the engine harness because i have a mk3 harness for a mk2 tdi swap) If you use the passat harness, you will have to cut/remove all the protective coverings, from your golf wire harness, and systematically remove all the old wires that went to the gas computer/engine. then plug all the plugs to the engine, and done. if you use a mk3 one, you unplug your gas harness, and plug in the diesel harnes. It will be very easy to sell and or trade the passat harness for a mk3 one. so passat harnesses are highly desireable for people doing swaps in other passats, and mk1's and 2's In the passat, the engine harness is its own standalone unit. the engine harness and chassis harness forward of the firewall are all one. ![]() The mk3 harness incorporates everything into one bundle. Your going to want to trade the passat harness for a mk3 harness and here is why. Selling my rabbit, I did the 2.0 aba swap out of a 97 golf, full harness tranny swap, have teardrop rims and the original gti black rims as well, extra hood, lots of other parts, needs some finishing touches done here and there but it runs and drives, asking 3000 OBO, number above. I will not respond if you ask me.3) if you do not have the money, do NOT ask to come by and see it.The good: *****PLEASE READ CAREFULLY *****1) please do not ask me any dumb questions about the car! If you know nothing about vw's, save it.2) price is firm. Car is in ok shape, lots of extra parts to go with it. I did look into the title with the dmv and they said the car comes back clean and a title can be applied for.
